The custom of giving bomboniere or favours at
weddings originated in Italy, and dates back hundreds of years.
The tradition of giving favours has now been welcomed by much of
Europe. Although primarily associated with weddings, favours are
also given at christenings, first holy communions, anniversaries,
birthdays and many other special occasions.
The Bride and Groom giving favours to their
guests, is traditionally seen as a token of thanks for sharing
their special day. They also double as table decorations at your
reception. The traditional bomboniere or favour would contain five
sugared almonds, elegantly wrapped in an ever-increasing variety
or ways such as plain or novelty boxes, tulles or lace, flowers and
ribbons.
The sugared almonds are said to bring Health, Wealth, Happiness,
Fertility and Long Life. However, if you prefer these can be
replaced by a number of other options such as Ferrero Rocher,
chocolate dragees, mini chocolate eggs, smarties, jelly beans,
mint imperials etc.
There is no limit to the options available and
we can help you create your personal design.
